Premiere
Building up from the context of dance and traditional Portuguese music while exploring its various manifestations with a more contemporary approach, Clara Andermatt searches for the motivation behind these movements / processes (folklorization, revivalism, patrimonialization), reflecting on the relationship between peers, themes, musicality, the sense of rhythm, social codes, the sensuality they emanate, amongst others. The Portuguese choreographer decontextualizes them all and coats them with new functions and expressions in a fertile exchange between past and what is to come, in a challenging exercise both risky and seductive. This new creation by Clara Andermatt ends with a dance. PédeXumbo invites the audience participate.
