ÉDIPO

THEATER

Reinvented and without complexes, Édipo is the newest creation by Companhia do Chapitô, that transforms into gestures another greek tragedy by presenting us with the comedic flight of Oedipus from his terrible destiny.
And if Sophocles' Oedipus is a tragic hero, a paradigm, complexity, impulse, wrath, fatality; if he is logos, pathos, ethos, hybris, miasma, eros, thanatos, and an even larger number of other ‘is', ‘eisis', ‘thos' and ‘thas'; Companhia do Chapitô's Édipo is unlucky, clumsy, an outcast, harassed, vilified, derided, hurt and an even larger number of other ‘booms!', ‘ouches!',‘heys!', ‘slams!' and ‘fsssts!'. The only thing certain is that while he might crawl on the floor, he might use his two legs - even seek the help of a cane - or while he might even try to ride on someone's back, Édipo shall never escape!
