Invited to create a choreography for the National Ballet, from the movie universe of Andrei Tarkovsky, considered one of the best filmmakers of the twentieth century, Paulo Ribeiro again surprises as the best dance work of the year, among all those presented in Portugal in 2011. The most recent choreographic composition Paulo Ribeiro is highlighted in relation to works of other big names in international dance, as Jérôme Bel, Boris Charmatz or Josef Nadj. A distinction made by critics of art and culture of the Público newspaper that listed in the supplement Ípsilon the best of what was done or made in Portugal in the year now ending.
In Du Don de Soi, choreographer plunged into a different universe, daring to embrace aslower record, unlike the nervous movement that your audience accustomed. In homage to Tarkovsky leads a large collective of performers that have merged into one harmonious kind of chaos, framed by beautiful and inspiring landscapes.
