DMITRI OU O PECADO

THEATER

After Ivan ou a Dúvida, the staging director Sónia Barbosa returns to her project Karamázov to center in the figure of Dmitri Karamázov and in his perspective explored in the romance by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, The Brothers Karamázov.
Dmitri, the first child: passional, sensuous, wrathful, violent. The one that outright shows his desire to kill his father - is it him the parricide? Through a dramaturgical construction based on the work with the actors, in the literary work of the Russian writer and in the interlacement with other materials and concepts, this work poses questions about desire, hedonism, eroticism and sensuality, delirium, the pleasures of the senses, the attraction for cruelty and perversion, the loss of control/ loss of conscience and the relation of all this with our world today.
If in Ivan ou a Dúvida, the dramaturgy and staging focused on the anguish of the solitary and mortal struggle between a man and his own conscience, in Dmitri ou o Pecado there will be the frenzy, the delirium, the ecstasy and the passion the motto that will guide the creation process. Another trait of Dostoyevsky, profoundly humane, portrayed with the microscopic enlargement that is usual in his work.
