In residence at Centro Cultural de Belém, the Divino Sospiro orchestra, led by its founder and musical director Massimo Mazzeo, performs a programme that invites us to a foray into the world of Baroque music, through purely instrumental music genres that flourished during this period, in other words the "suite", as in Ouverture by Georg Philipp Telemann, and the concert style, found in the works of Leonardo Leo and Antonio Vivaldi.
Divino Sospiro is an orchestra that approaches a rather antique repertoire without ever giving up their own creative instincts, aiming to create a new aesthetic taste, a rekindeled passion for "listening", a new reflection on the purpose of music and musicians. Currently, the orchestra's repertoire is not restricted to the Baroque period, having extended into the classic and romantic periods, with some forays into contemporary music.
