EXHIBITION
Supping on the symbolic and material forces that define each participant, Carina Martins took up the challenge of deconstructing the narrative of choreographer Paulo Ribeiro in order to rebuild it into a new relationship of time, space, body and movement. Through photography, with freedom of movement in a different stage, a different time. Together with a series of new combinations of movements in different time frames and unconventional spaces, such as the hallways of the Theatre, its backstage, the public is presented with a collection of virtual spaces, veritable overlapping realities that can be inhospitable territories and at the same time performative and ethereal places.
Photographing JIM was the means through which Carina Martins again crossed paths with dance, with visions of how to be a dance performer and choreographer, all the while evoking the imaginary she created a new object - dance where the boundaries between the piece, the process, fiction and reality are blurred.
