In 2023, illustrators Emma Andreetti and Marc Parchow accompanied the 11th edition of NANT in a very special way. They sat in the darkened corner of all venues, observing the arrival of the technician teams, the set-up, the rehearsals and the actual shows themselves, while drawing movements, immortalizing reactions, telling a story well beyond the one taking place on stage.
A year later, this work finally sees the light of day and can be freely appreciated at Teatro Viriato's foyer.
The exhibition "Desenhar no escuro" (lit. Drawing in the dark) compiles the graphical journals of both illustrators, but also a zine-pastiche, developed in collaboration with the artists that participated in NANT 2023, where they share visions and information - not readily accessible to audiences - pertaining to the performances presented at that event.
