Having as a starting point Article 31 of the UNCRC, that defends that all children have a right to rest, relax, play and participate in cultural and creative activities, Teatro Viriato challenged students from four different schools (grades 1-6) to think about what each one would consider an ideal school.
What would they change in their schools? What would they like to keep? What activities would make them happy? These were some of the questions asked that turned into colourful drawings, where playing and imagination project a school beyond homework, obligations and full schedules. The end result is now brought to the general public through “Desejo/Desenho”, a holographic installation that breathes life into the drawings of these youngsters and helps us understand what they wish school to be and what is – or should be – the importance of art within this ecosystem.
This exhibition will also be presented at each of the shcools that took part in its creative process: Escola Básica (EB) de Casal de Mundão - AE de Mundão; EB de Jugueiros; EB Infante D. Henrique - AE Infante D. Henrique and EB Dr. Azeredo Perdigão - AE Viseu Norte.
