In 2021, Teatro Viriato seeks to come together through working partnerships. This means keeping our long-time partners, while at the same time reaching out to other projects and entities that have long proven their quality in promoting the performing arts.
FITEI the International Theatre Festival of Iberian Expression is one of those projects that we want to be close to, and this year a new partnership will allow us to do just that.
In 2021, this partnership will give rise to a joint programme to be presented not only during the Festival itself, but in our auditorium and on digital platforms as well. This will include the shows Estado Vegetal' (Vegetable State), by the Chilean Manuela Infante; Noite Fora - Leitura e Conversas sobre Teatro' (All Through the Night - Reading and Conversations About Theatre), coordinated by Sónia Barbosa and guest speaker Brazilian director, Janaína Leite, who will also present the show Stabat Mater'; and A Minha História da Dança' (My History of Dance), a conference with renowned choreographer Sónia Baptista.
