Inês Campos presents a collage of metaphors about the challenge of being one thing while wanting to be so many others. Being the tiger and the tamer, a sad clown and a fit of laughter, occupying various different bodies, wanting to be the reality of one's dreams. Like a wave in the sea, that goes through many temporary stages while being a part, in its entirety, of every stage.
"Coexistimos" (lit. we coexist) expresses a firm belief that the various domains of art are promiscuous and enjoy each other's company. As such, this choreographic piece will have instances of dance, theatre, cinema, object manipulation, architecture in movement and various other artifices that try to create a succession of illusions. It takes the form of 11 paintings, each one trying to maintain their own idiom while avoiding contamination from the others, that appear in a pop-up fashion, severing any ties with the previous vignette without foreshadowing what follows.
