Céu na Boca, the newest choreography by Henrique Rodovalho, for his company Quasar, questions the relationship between the paradise that we wish for and the reality that is offered to each. In a dreamlike atmosphere, the performers evoke metaphors and antitheses characteristic of human existence, creating parallels between heaven (as an ideal, but unattainable place) and mouth (a metaphor for tangible reality).
Humour and drama, movement and non movement, contemporary electronic music and the instrumental music of the 50s are other paradoxes of this Céu na Boca.
This piece marks the celebration of 25 years of a Brazilian company of reference, with its unique language, that ascended to an unequalled place of importance among both the Brazilian national dance, and the international dance scene.
