CECI N'EST PAS UN FILM - DUETO PARA MAÇÃ E OVO

Dance

In Ceci n'est pas um film, Paulo Ribeiro has no pretension of illustrating a movie with dance. His intention is to allow the audience to journey through images of the past and images of the future, veering towards a duet for apple and egg, that imply the elevation of love. A love that becomes possessive, finical, codependent, desperate, overexcited, stifling; but also pathetic, comic, tragicomic, playful, frivolous, virtuous, winding, vainglorious and empty. Love that trips over hyperactivity and the bleakness of one's soul in order to exorcise delusion or disappointment!
With no closed narratives, no crushing dramaturgy, no obligation to understand every iota, the two performers on stage guide us towards a world of senses - those of our life in its simplest form. Simultaneously, and indelibly, they summon Magritte to accompany us.
