Post-documentary Q&A with António M Cabrita, Director of Programming at Teatro Viriato, and Mara Maravilha, lecturer in the domain of Art at ESEV-IPV
In this documentary, Eva Stefani observes renowned artist, stage director and choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou and his team as they struggled to bring “Transverse Orientation” to life. Since its premiere, in 2021, this show travelled through three continents, 20 countries and 31 cities, was seen by more than eighty thousand spectators and received high praise from multiple critics.
“Bull’s Heart” was built around a central question: «Why do we do what we do?», highlighting art as an act of resistance against the fleeting nature of life and as a means to give it meaning.
The movie explores the dynamic that emerges from a work of art, revealing moments of concern and uncertainty, but also of hope in times of crisis. “Bull’s Heart” is not just a documentary about a performance or an artist – it is a study on the very nature of artistic creation.
