Carlos Neto argues that our current education model is obsolete, and we must reinvent it, so that children don’t spend so much time sitting down between tasks that do not stimulate their basic motor capacities.
The tenured professor from the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon, has been an outspoken advocate for the importance of games and playing within this context. A subject he classifies of the utmost seriousness and that pertains to how important human kinetics are for the learning process. As such, he has dedicated his academic research to the role games and the act of playing take in a child’s development.
In this gathering, Carlos Neto will present is book “Libertem as Crianças” to audiences, while sharing strategies that might push our children to be more physically active while keeping intact the magic of childhood.
