Bantu designates a family of languages spoken in sub-Saharan Africa. In Mozambique, the most common example is the Macua language. But Bantu is so much more than a simple linguistic occurrence. It's a unique idiom that survived the imposition of European languages; a mechanism of identity; a symbol that remained out of reach of the colonizers' grasp; a form of communication with unique cultural, historical, religious and political codes; an ephemeral materialization of the longest encounter. "Bantu", the title, encapsulates all that we want, or imagine, "Bantu", the show, to be.
