Music
Pianist Alberto Rodrigues presents the debut album of Azul Espiga, a project that serves as meeting point for two different music currents searching for a common place: portuguese folk songs and jazz.
Having inherited, from his childhood, the music and stories of those who toiled in the fields, Alberto Rodrigues uses the melodic richness of these same songs as the backbone for an opus where the harmonious and rhythmic profundity of its arrangements give the themes intense and surprising new textures, enhanced by the voice and accordion playing savvy of Ricardo Augusto.
This record, published under the GiraDiscos label, will be presented for the first time to an audience at Teatro Viriato.
Note: GiraDiscos is the record publishing branch of Gira Sol Azul through which the association means to divulge and stimulate music creation in the city of Viseu and, also, support independent record publishing.
