“Aurora (ou Livro)” is a performance partially built with eyes closed. We don’t know exactly where it takes place, someone’s living room, a black box, the city’s streets. There is a line that unfurls between reality fiction. A line that begins at the tip of a finger and extends into space.
Aurora (lit. dawn) is also the moment between night and day, the period of light before the sun as actually risen, where everything is illuminated by twilight in a tense relationship between darkness, shadow and light. A moment that isn’t yet a moment. It is the promise, the wish and the expectation of the moment that will follow.
In this project, Paula Diogo invites a group of artists to create an habitat for the body that allows to think of it as tactile and reactive material that, when deprived of its sense of vision, activates other ways of reading the world and relate to reality.
