Atlas is a performance that gathers 100 people from Viseu - representatives of distinct professions - on a single stage. With this piece, Ana Borralho and João Galante aim to create an atlas of human social organization, a representation of human beings through the function they perform in their society.
One of the principal driving forces behind this piece are the ideas of visual artist Joseph Beuys, Wir sind die Revolution (We are the Revolution) and Jeder Mensch ein Künstler (Every Man is An Artist). A silent revolution. A work motivated by the belief that art should have an active part in society. Uniting art and life.
