In her first outing as a sole creator, Tita Maravilha, reinvents an Anton Tchekhov classic, overlapping the original plot with themes that scream for attention and that have seldom been discussed from a place of wisdom and subject knowledge. Never forgetting today's world affairs, this play makes us think about how Russia's political system deals with the LGBTQIA+ community.
The author expresses a radical interest in interacting with Portuguese performative arts, in rethinking and altering the history currently in dialogue with gender identity, mixing critical thought with humour, art and intersectionality. A creation that combines the literary structure of a classic with the vanguardist ideas of contemporaneity.
