THEATER
Three travellers floating in the middle of the Mediterranean, heading for the unknown, recall the names of the 55 cities described by Italo Calvino in The Invisible Cities. Cities that are named after women, who are born and die, dream and fear, run away and rebuild their lives elsewhere, if they can get there. But also cities that are built on a land without borders, one that can unite and separate countries, people and cultures.
A lifeguard, three apples, a few clementines, a pointed cabbage, three toy animals, a blanket like the ones made by our grandmother, 11 books, a map of Europe, a few photos and postcards, three people. In total, there are 55 objects on stage, which gain new meanings, representing imaginary or real cities.
This is a show in which the cities are disentailed from their geographical concept and are elevated to a character status, as protagonists of the performance.
