THEATER
Premiere
Telling improbable stories to children is the challenge given by Teatro Viriato to stage director and thespian Sónia Barbosa, accompanied in this project by illustrator Catarina Fernandes. Having Italo Calvino's The Baron in the Trees as a starting point, they mix theatre and live illustration in an attempt to breath life into the story of a boy that decides to climb up trees and never come back down again.
Without gimmicks, they try to involve the audience through the power of suggestion of an image they see taking form and through a story where the impossible becomes very real.
