Everything starts with a silence, the silence that precedes a catastrophe. Then there are catastrophes, and catastrophes, some affecting us as a society, others personal, ripping the ground from under us. And what happens after that event? Restart, rebuild – and within this warring heart we always find our savage weapon, our strength of courage. The city lost its ground, Aruna lost her gravity.

Through a shadow play, a ten-year-old child, Aruna, sings us a story of social and human reconstruction in times of adversity. The show thematically connects with an exhibition created by Eleonore Labatut and Simon Deprez, architects dedicated to the reconstruction of places struck by natural disasters, that will be in place for the audience’s viewing pleasure at Teatro Viriato’s Foyer during the days of the show.
