Archipelago

“Archipelago” presents, live, tracks recorded for the album of the same name, released in 2019, by north-american label Odradek. Winner of the 2019 Play Awards for Best album of classic/erudite music, it garnered the highest critical praise both nationally and internationally.

This project is the result of a long collaboration between composer Luís Tinoco and Drumming Grupo de Percussão (GP), bringing us music written for a diverse array of instrumental combinations, from solos to percussion quartets, from trios to quintets of percussion mixed with electronic.

Luís Tinoco is a recognised composer, programmer and music communicator, distinguished with the title of Associate by the British Royal Academy of Music and, in 2004, with Prémio Pessoa. Drumming GP, founded in 1999, have revealed themselves to be one of the most original and dynamic projects of contemporary music of the Iberian Peninsula and, indeed, the entire world.
