Another Rose' is the winning project of the 4th edition of the Amélia Rey Colaço Scholarship, jointly promoted by A Oficina (Guimarães), O Espaço do Tempo (Montemor-o-Novo), D. Maria II National Theatre (Lisbon) and Teatro Viriato (Viseu).
In this show, Sofia Santos Silva proposes a collaboration with the Gulabi Gang, an activist group based in Uttar Pradesh, northern India, making the show a platform to serve the Gang's mission. This is a group founded by women as a response to the systemic violence and pervasive discrimination of a society based on ancient patriarchy.
In documentary and musical format, 'Another Rose' is an echo of resistance and unity, a space of compassion transformed into political and human action.
