In the year that celebrates the centenary of the creation of The Rite of Spring, a musical composition by Igor Stravinsky and choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky, Olga Roriz wrestles with this titan of a piece, a confrontation that can never be peaceful. Throughout her career as choreographer / performer she crossed paths with this universe, first as a performer at the Ballet Gulbenkian, and more recently, as a choreographer, with an adaptation for Companhia Nacional de Bailado, along the road she remembers the day that she saw, on a miniscule television set, Pina Bausch's version and decided she would never choreograph this work. Fleeting moments that arrive, almost full circle , to this solo, her first creation from this piece, where she tries to "rewrite history, add references and create the moment. Passion, knowledge and memories will remain intact, will be respected but without voice, without space, without present."
