THEATER
Based on George Orwell's novel Animal Farm groups from Portugal (Viseu and Lisbon), Brazil, Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe
Despite a pandemic, in 2020 we bring together four countries, two continents and two islands through the internet. At K Cena - Lusophone Youth Theatre Project, to present "Animal Farm", by George Orwell. Lisbon, Viseu, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe and Salvador da Bahia met to remind us that, although we are all equal, some are more equal than others.
In 2020, the 8th edition of K Cena - Lusophone Youth Theatre Project saw a changing world and changed with it. The result was a video-performance in a cadavre-exquis format, composed of 10 video-chapters from the work "Animal Farm", by George Orwell.
Each group worked on two chapters, which were assigned to them randomly, without knowing how their colleagues in K Cena would approach them, or in what order. This created diverse proposals based on the same work, but also based on the real-life experiences of each group and the outrage it provoked in them.
After a joint premiere, broadcasted in our hall, the video-performance "goes up" to our Understage.
