"A Nossa Vida" is the second episode in the duology "Episódios da Vida Selvagem" written and directed by Mickaël de Oliveira, that imagines a near future where humanity is beset by the effects of extreme climate and is on the cusp of experiencing their ultimate catastrophe: extinction. The last episode left us with the cliffhanger of an impending decision between two proposals for the survival of the community, threatened by water scarcity. In this second chapter, government discusses the two proposals for the future of the city. Between war and exodus, both options seem to carry with them grave human and moral costs. Between technical explanations and the analysis of implications, the political debate unveils family feuds, personal ambitions and notions of national identity, in a plot that harkens back to Greek tragedy.
