Considered one of the best acting french glove puppeteers in the world, Brice Coupey fell in love with a text by the universal José Saramago. The short story A Ilha Desconhecida is put on stage by just one actor that, with the help of simple objects, turns into the various characters, including the two main ones, represented by puppets, manipulated live for the audience's enjoyment. Brice Coupey gives voice to the story that Saramago wrote with the simplicity and sharpness his readership had come to expect from him, keeping open the invitation to search for one's deepest desires, even when these push a man to peer at an unknown island that, most say, might not even exist. A daily struggle; an everyday challenge!
