THEATER
PREMIERE
For the fifth year in a row Teatro Viriato promotes K Cena - Projeto Lusófono de Teatro Jovem, in partnership with Teatro Vila Velha (Brazil) and Instituto Camões/Centro Cultural Português - Pólo do Mindelo (Cape Verde). Started in 2012, this initiative aims to highlight the Portuguese Language and Theatre as ideal vehicles for personal enrichment and the development of the Portuguese speaking identity. The fifth edition coincides with the 10th anniversary of Teatro Viriato's promotion of Youth Theatre projects. This time, instead of the usual creation of three original works, one in each country where the project is hosted, it falls onto stage director Graeme Pulleyn's shoulders to develop a creative process with a group of teenagers from Viseu, with the collaboration of stage directors Marcio Meirelles (Brazil), João Branco (Cape Verde) and some participants of former editions, that will culminate with the presentation of a theatre play reflecting the ideologies and themes experienced by the participants.
