Companhia Paulo Ribeiro commemorates its twentieth anniversary, and the more than twenty creations produced during its long history, proving its narrow relationship with the history of so-called new Portuguese dance. This body of work also makes apparent the presence of a perpetual movement exploring space, ideas, concepts, doubts, comings, goings and surprises. If, on one hand, Paulo Ribeiro recognises that creative processes are almost always anguishing, the choreographer also admits that all are received as festive moments.
This new project, celebrating twenty years of creations, premieres at Culturgest, and intends to truly be a party where the choreographer intends to give shape to the innermost, secret motivations, give shape to utopia, to the expectation and will to create a platform of understanding and complicity. A party, a manifestation of pleasure, unfurling from the author to the stage and from the stage towards the audience.
Paulo Ribeiro, in complement to his newest creation, will head a special class for all those interested in making contact with his choreographic idiom.
