Heavily inspired by the verse "eu não obedeço porque sou molhada" (lit. I don't obey because I'm wet), from Elza Soares's song Banho, Elizabete Francisca brings us, through sound and gestures, a possible representation of an unsubmissive body's political geography.
For the artist, it is paramount that we claim a place of resistance, turning possible fragilities into arrows and power. The body as a political weapon; the last bastion of any experience; a scream. The affirmation of an individual, reconciling their identity and sexuality: from their sex to their head, from their head to the cosmos, from the cosmos back to the ground. A possible mantra to keep balance at bay.
