Teatro Viriato has been a constant partner to Festival Internacional de Música da Primavera, a veritable cultural landmark in the music scene. In April, the festival will, once again, return with a varied programme, boasting world renowned musicians and staging shows in several different venues. Apart from the orchestras that will participate in the Festival, we could also highlight Mário Laginha's and Pedro Burmester's concert as well as the presentation of As Sete Mulheres de Jeremias Epicentro, a comedic opera in one act. The Festival shines a bright focus on contemporary music, premiering seven new pieces written by Portuguese composers, four of which were actually commissioned for the event.
