10 ANOS DE TEATRO JOVEM

DOCUMENTARY

Believing that the community should be part of current artistic endeavours and assuming itself as a space of discovery and learning, Teatro Viriato has promoted, in these last 10 years, the development of Youth Theatre projects. This type of theatre education started in 2005 when it integrated Culturgest's nation wide project PANOS - Palcos novos, palavras novas, that allied youth theatre to new dramaturgy, clearly inspired by the London National Theatre's Connections programme. In 2012 it decided to embrace a new international challenge, set on the promotion of youth theatre but also of portuguese speaking cultures. K Cena - Projeto Lusófono de Teatro Jovem, once again united youngsters from different nationalities (Portugal, Brazil and Cape Verde), cultural realities and social contexts, but linked together by Portuguese Language.
To commemorate this important date of theatre education, audience sensitisation and personal enrichment, Teatro Viriato commissioned a documentary that will work as an archive of future memories, but also of convictions, complicity, smiles and dreams shared by the young participants.
What remains of these projects in one's life after 10 years?
