On April 27th 2016, the European Parliament published a new regulation on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data – the General Data Protection Regulation (REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL). This Regulation was put in place on May 25th 2018 and repealed Directive 95/46/EC on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
Centro de Artes do Espectáculo de Viseu (CAEV) assumes the commitment to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, as well as all legal obligations towards the Portuguese Republic and all European regulations applicable within the context of Data Protection and Privacy.
CAEV is fully committed to the protection of rights, liberties and guaranties of all natural persons who visit this website and use the services provided wherein (henceforth designated as Data Subjects), and the secure processing of their personal data, in compliance with all its legal obligations.
2. Definitions
CAEV’s Privacy Policy is based on the terms used by the European legislator when publishing the General Data Protection Regulation. This Policy must be intelligible and comprehensible to all Data Subjects who visit this website. Below, we define the principal terms used in our Policy:

- Third party. Any natural or legal person, public authority, agency or body other than the Data Subject and Controller who, under the direct authority of the Controller, are authorised to process personal data;
- Supervisory authority. An independent public authority which is established by a Member State of the European Union pursuant to Article 51 of the aforementioned Regulation. This authority is responsible for monitoring the application of all norms, guidelines and regulations regarding personal data processing, ensuring the protection of all human rights, freedoms and guarantees stated in the Constitution and the law;
- Cookies. Cookies are small-sized files stored in an access device (computer, cellphone/smartphone and tablet), through a web browser, whenever a Data Subject visits a website. 6. Newsletter subscription form
CAEV makes available to all Data Subjects the opportunity to subscribe to the newsletter that divulges their activities and products. The form used for this effect describes each type of collected data, and informs Data Subjects of the purpose of the collection, as well as their rights regarding personal data. At the moment of newsletter subscription, the Data Subject is required to give express consent so that the newsletter may be sent to them.
The newsletter can only be received by the Data Subject if they have provided a valid email address and have explicitly asked to receive it. After the subscription submission, a confirmation email will be sent to the Data Subject – a double opt-in procedure – allowing them to confirm the ownership of the email address used for the subscription, and attesting to their explicit consent in receiving the newsletter.

The consent given by the Data Subject when subscribing to the newsletter, authorising the collection, processing and storage of their data may be rescinded at any time.

7. Rights of the Data Subject

8. Principles relating to processing of personal data
CAEV, in compliance with this Policy and their own Responsibility towards Data Subjects concerning their data protection and privacy fulfils all fundamental principles of personal data processing, as stated in Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation, namely lawfulness, fairness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity, confidentiality and availability.
CAEV assures their compliance with all stated Principles, demonstrating said compliance within the context of all data collection and processing performed through their services and functionalities made available on the website www.teatroviriato.com. CAEV may be required to demonstrate their compliance with these Principles to any entity or organization that holds legal authority to request it.
9. Lawfulness of data processing
