Clara Andermatt was invited to create a piece for programme Outros Mundos, by Estúdios Victor Córdon, inspired by Persian culture. This work represents the challenge of drawing closer to Iran’s cultural richness, while simultaneously celebrating it – incorporating contributions from the Iranian community in Portugal. Andermatt focuses on the female universe, moving within a space of dialogue and reflection about aspects of everyday life, freedom and cultural diversity, reinterpreting Iran’s dance, poetry and music. The creator does not attempt to encompass the full vastness of Persian culture, but to bring us a subjective point of view, a curious and interested peek into a reality very different from our own.
