Inspired by Miguel Torga's book with the same title, "Bichos" broaches fundamental questions about society and existence itself. For Torga, evolution separated humanity from Nature, damning it to perdition, and in "Bichos", he travels in search of that wild essence, that purity of instinct, calling into question concepts such as God, liberty, society and the relationship between them and the individual.
With this choreographic piece, Dançando com a Diferença reminds everyone that living is not enough. Human dignity demands that life can only be worth living when one has absolute freedom; that the defiance that denies domestication and conformity is the safest way to find one's role within the collective, without relinquishing that same liberty.
