Since its first edition in 2010, Encludança has been trying to bring to the fore different methods of using, and perceiving, the concepts of "difference" and "inclusivity", especially concerning artistic works that involve disabled artists.
This gathering, first organized in Madeira by Dançando com a Diferença and its director Henrique Amoedo, travels to Teatro Viriato, bringing with it different approaches towards this reality. This partnership between both cultural structures arises from a mutual preoccupation with how seriously these questions must be taken by programming institutions.
It returns, in 2023, side-stepping the relational dichotomy between programming spaces and disabled artists and audiences, facing the challenge of discussing the more intimate and social side of inclusivity. The 6th edition of Encludança hopes to break taboos and be a force that makes the art world strive to take bigger and better steps towards accepting diversity.
